FAQPage Schema

How do I control the cinematic camera in a Decentraland scene?▼

To force a specific camera mode inside a region of your Decentraland scene, use CameraModeArea to automatically switch the player's view to first-person or third-person when they enter that defined spatial zone.

How do I detect if a player is in first-person or third-person mode in Decentraland?▼

You can detect first-person or third-person mode by accessing the exposed camera state, which allows you to monitor and programmatically react to the active CameraMode behavior in real-time.

How do I switch the active camera to a virtual camera in Decentraland?▼

To switch the active camera, use the MainCamera interface to activate or deactivate your configured VirtualCamera, enabling seamless transitions between scripted cinematic views and default player controls.

How do I prevent camera clipping through objects in Decentraland scenes?▼

To prevent camera clipping, follow the guidance on camera versus collider behavior to ensure your virtual cameras and scene colliders interact correctly without passing through solid geometry.

Can I script camera transitions and look-at targeting for Decentraland scenes?▼

Yes, you can script camera transitions and look-at targeting by creating a VirtualCamera, which allows you to define cinematic paths and focal points that dynamically frame your scene.
