💡 This Skill includes references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

Classifies compute spend into capex and operating expenses and aligns cloud usage with general ledger accounts.

Core Features & Use Cases

Comprehensive policy-driven classification of compute costs (capex vs OpEx) and asset lifecycle integration.
Depreciation, prepaid amortization, asset register management, and month-end reconciliation across on-prem and cloud environments.
Output artifacts include capitalization memos, GL mappings, amortization schedules, flux narratives, and chargeback/showback reports.

Quick Start

Summarize the current period's compute spend by asset, capex vs OpEx, and GL mappings.

Frequently Asked Questions about compute-accounting-manager

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I classify compute spend into capex and OpEx for GL mapping?▼

Compute spend classification into capex and OpEx maps cloud and on-prem usage to general ledger accounts using policy-driven asset capitalization. It outputs capitalization memos and GL mappings for finance teams.

What is the best way to automate month-end reconciliation for compute costs?▼

Month-end reconciliation for compute costs aligns cloud usage with GL accounts through depreciation and prepaid amortization schedules. It generates flux narratives and chargeback reports across data centers and cloud environments.

Does this approach handle depreciation and prepaid amortization for cloud environments?▼

Yes, depreciation and prepaid amortization for cloud environments are handled through asset register management and lifecycle event tracking. It generates amortization schedules covering both on-prem and cloud infrastructure.

How do I generate intercompany chargeback reports for cloud usage?▼

Intercompany chargeback reports for cloud usage allocate compute costs across business units by mapping usage data to GL accounts. It outputs showback and chargeback reports for finance teams.

When do I need a capitalization memo for compute asset lifecycle events?▼

A capitalization memo for compute asset lifecycle events is needed when policy-driven asset capitalization classifies compute spend into capex. It records lifecycle events and outputs capitalization memos for GL mapping.

Can I manage asset registers for both on-prem data centers and cloud environments?▼

Yes, asset register management covers both on-prem data centers and cloud environments by tracking compute asset lifecycle events. It outputs amortization schedules and flux narratives for month-end reconciliations.
