SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Energy procurement for multi-site operations is complex and cost-intensive; this skill helps manage tariff analysis, RFP design, hedging, PPAs, DR, and sustainability alignment to reduce spend and risk.

Core Features & Use Cases

Profile loads using interval data to identify cost drivers and peak opportunities
Analyze tariffs, design RFPs, and evaluate bids with total-cost-of-ownership (including demand charges, capacity, and transmission)
Evaluate on-site generation, PPAs, RECs, and hedging strategies to meet sustainability targets while controlling spend

Quick Start

Profile each facility's load with interval data and initiate an RFP across multiple REPs to compare fixed and index pricing.

Frequently Asked Questions about energy-procurement

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I optimize energy procurement for multi-site commercial operations?▼

Multi-site energy procurement optimization balances cost, risk, and reliability by analyzing facility load profiles, designing RFPs, and evaluating bids with total-cost-of-ownership, including demand charges and transmission costs.

What is load profiling with 15-minute interval data and when do I need it?▼

Load profiling with 15-minute interval data identifies cost drivers and peak demand opportunities across facilities. It is needed before designing an energy RFP or evaluating tariff structures to ensure accurate cost analysis.

How do I evaluate PPA and hedging strategies for sustainability targets?▼

Evaluating PPAs, RECs, and hedging strategies involves assessing on-site generation and layered procurement approaches to meet sustainability targets while controlling energy spend and managing risk exposure.

Can I compare fixed and index pricing across multiple retail electric providers?▼

Yes, comparing fixed and index pricing across multiple REPs is supported through RFP design and bid evaluation, covering block-and-index and layered procurement strategies to determine the best total-cost-of-ownership.

Does energy procurement support demand-charge management and demand response considerations?▼

Yes, the process supports demand-charge management and demand response considerations by analyzing tariff structures and load profiles to identify peak reduction opportunities and optimize overall energy costs.
