epistemology-justification
OfficialFind what truly justifies a belief.
System Documentation
What problem does it solve?
It diagnoses whether a claim is actually justified by making the underlying justification structure explicit, locating the weakest link that could make the belief fail.
Core Features & Use Cases
- Justification-chain tracing: Breaks a belief into a step-by-step chain of reasons until it reaches foundational beliefs, coherent support webs, or reliable process outputs.
- Structure classification (foundationalist/coherentist/reliabilist): Identifies which justification pattern dominates each link, including hybrids.
- Weakest-link testing: Assesses each link as sound/shaky/unsupported/circular and pinpoints the leverage point most worth challenging.
Use case example: You have strong confidence in an argument, but you cannot articulate why; run this skill to reveal whether your confidence rests on a questionable “basic” assumption, a circular metric loop, or an unreliable inference process.
Quick Start
Use the epistemology-justification skill to analyze the belief “I know that X,” tracing its justification chain and identifying the single weakest link and what evidence would change it.
