SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

Identify and evaluate trade-offs between competing options to improve decision quality.

Core Features & Use Cases

Framework-driven decision making using trade-off frameworks (weighted criteria matrices, decision tenets, "would I start this today?" checks)
Case-based guidance for common product decisions (speed vs quality, scope vs depth, growth vs stability)
Structured outputs that translate decisions into actionable next steps (documented rationale, recommended path, risk flags)

Quick Start

Ask it to compare two options using a weighted criteria matrix to reveal the best overall choice.

Frequently Asked Questions about evaluating-trade-offs

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I use a weighted criteria matrix for product decision making?▼

A weighted criteria matrix improves product decision making by quantifying and comparing competing options against weighted factors to reveal the best overall choice. You ask it to compare two options using this matrix to evaluate trade-offs clearly.

What is a trade-off framework and when do I need it?▼

A trade-off framework identifies and evaluates trade-offs between competing options to improve decision quality. You need it when teams weigh pros and cons, compare alternatives, or decide between speed and quality.

How do I decide between speed versus quality in product management?▼

Deciding between speed versus quality requires evaluating trade-offs using case-based guidance and decision tenets. It provides structured outputs that translate your decision into documented rationale, a recommended path, and risk flags.

What's the best way to compare alternatives using decision tenets?▼

The best way to compare alternatives using decision tenets is applying a framework-driven approach that quantifies options against your core criteria. This translates decisions into actionable next steps with documented rationale and risk flags.

Can I use trade-off frameworks for risk management decisions?▼

Yes, you can use trade-off frameworks for risk management decisions by identifying and evaluating competing options to improve decision quality. The framework quantifies options and outputs explicit risk flags for your chosen path.

How do I document decision rationale after evaluating trade-offs?▼

You document decision rationale after evaluating trade-offs by generating structured outputs that translate decisions into actionable next steps. This includes a documented rationale, a recommended path, and explicit risk flags.
