SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

This Skill helps product teams translate vague feature ideas into a precise, actionable specification that guides design and engineering.

Core Features & Use Cases

Generates a structured feature spec including goals, primary and alternative user flows, and edge cases.
Defines functional requirements, acceptance criteria, dependencies, and rollout considerations.
Useful in early product planning when alignment on scope, success criteria, and constraints is required.

Quick Start

Provide a feature idea and user goal, and run this skill to generate a build-ready specification with flows, requirements, and rollout notes.

Frequently Asked Questions about feature-spec

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I turn a vague product idea into a build-ready feature specification?▼

To turn a vague idea into a build-ready feature specification, provide the feature concept and user goal to generate a structured spec with primary and alternate user flows, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria.

What should be included in a feature spec for engineering teams?▼

A comprehensive feature spec should include the feature goal, primary and alternate user flows, functional requirements, acceptance criteria, edge cases, dependencies, analytics, and rollout notes to guide engineering teams effectively.

How do I document edge cases and validation rules during product planning?▼

You document edge cases and validation rules during product planning by processing the feature idea through a structured specification generator that explicitly maps alternate paths and constraints alongside primary user flows.

Can I generate rollout considerations and success criteria for early product design?▼

Yes, you can generate rollout considerations and success criteria for early product design by inputting the user goal, which produces a precise specification covering rollout notes and analytics tracking.

Does this feature specification tool work without external dependencies?▼

Yes, this feature specification tool works without external dependencies, allowing product teams to directly translate scope alignment and constraints into actionable requirements during early planning phases.

When do I need to define acceptance criteria and alternate user flows?▼

You need to define acceptance criteria and alternate user flows when moving from early product design phases to engineering handoff, ensuring developers have clear validation rules and path coverage to build accurately.
