SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes scripts (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

Automates end-to-end local CockroachDB performance testing by coordinating setup, data loading, and query profiling to produce actionable insights.

Core Features & Use Cases

Local-only safety mode ensures all operations run exclusively against a local CockroachDB instance.
Initialize perf DB, apply project DDL, and seed SQL to reproduce real-world scenarios.
Execute workload and generate CSV reports with performance metrics and improvement suggestions, including optional EXPLAIN ANALYZE results.

Quick Start

Start a local CockroachDB instance, initialize the target database, apply DDL, load seed data, run workloads, and export the resulting performance CSV report.

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I automate CockroachDB performance checks locally?▼

Automate local CockroachDB performance checks by orchestrating DB initialization, DDL application, seed data loading, and workload execution to generate deterministic CSV reports for performance diagnostics.

Can I run CockroachDB workload benchmarks without exposing data remotely?▼

Run CockroachDB workload benchmarks safely using a local-only constraint mode, ensuring all database initialization, data loading, and query profiling operations execute exclusively against a local instance.

How do I export CockroachDB statement statistics to CSV?▼

Export CockroachDB statement statistics to CSV by running a local workload that captures query performance metrics and optional EXPLAIN ANALYZE results into deterministic diagnostic reports.

What is the best way to profile local CockroachDB query performance end-to-end?▼

Profile local CockroachDB query performance end-to-end by applying project DDL and seed SQL to reproduce real-world scenarios, then executing workloads that export actionable CSV performance metrics with improvement suggestions.

Does the local CockroachDB performance checker require remote database connections?▼

The local CockroachDB performance checker requires no remote database connections, enforcing local-only constraints to prevent remote exposure during initialization, data loading, and workload execution.

Why are my CockroachDB performance diagnostics missing EXPLAIN ANALYZE results?▼

CockroachDB performance diagnostics may omit EXPLAIN ANALYZE results because this query profiling output is optional; the core reporting workflow exports deterministic CSV metrics for standard performance analysis.
