Frequently Asked Questions about plan-eng-review

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

What is an engineering plan review and when do I need to run one?▼

An engineering plan review evaluates architecture, data flows, and test coverage before implementation. You need to run a plan review during the design phase to surface architectural risks, assess performance concerns, and generate governance notes before committing code.

How do I review an architecture plan and assess data flow risks?▼

To review an architecture plan, run an interactive, gate-based workflow that guides data-flow and test-coverage assessments. This process surfaces risks and recommends actions, while tool-driven prompts handle routing, vendoring decisions, and telemetry considerations to generate actionable plan outputs.

Can I use this workflow to generate a test plan and decision records for governance?▼

Yes, you can use this workflow to generate a test plan and decision records for governance. The interactive review produces actionable plan outputs with clear next steps, proactively routing decisions and recording them for audit to ensure engineering sanity.

Does the plan review workflow support interactive routing and telemetry considerations?▼

Yes, the plan review workflow supports interactive routing and telemetry considerations. It uses tool-driven prompts like AskUserQuestion and gstack-config, along with AGENTS.md routing, to guide vendoring decisions and ensure plan-mode safety guarantees during the architecture assessment.

What are the limitations of rushing an engineering plan review without decision gates?▼

Rushing an engineering plan review without decision gates leads to architectural gaps, missed edge cases, and team misalignment. Skipping a structured, gate-based framework means missing proactive prompts for risk assessment, test coverage, and performance concerns before implementation begins.
