SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

The Research Techniques library provides a structured catalog of named techniques to guide investigators in decomposing complex questions, organizing evidence, and producing disciplined outputs.

Core Features & Use Cases

Library of named techniques (minianalysis, crosswalk, cross-cohort synthesis, gap analysis, reference interview, controlled vocabulary, pain-point taxonomy, search-operator grammar, Google-search API).
Clear orchestration guidance showing when and how to apply each technique within waves of investigation.
Generates structured artifacts and evidence-led conclusions aligned with the engine's standards for traceability.

Quick Start

Identify the required named technique and load only its matching reference to begin applying structured research.

Frequently Asked Questions about research-techniques

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

What is gap analysis in research and when should I use it?▼

Cross-cohort analysis standardizes workflows by applying named techniques to synthesize investigative questions across multiple groups. It requires loading only the matching reference per technique and pairing with orchestration for deterministic outputs and evidence discipline.

How do I conduct a reference interview for controlled vocabulary research?▼

To conduct a reference interview, identify the required named technique and load its matching reference. This structures the investigative questions and applies controlled vocabulary to ensure disciplined, evidence-led conclusions aligned with traceability standards.

What's the best way to standardize research workflows with named techniques?▼

The best way to standardize research workflows is using a library of named techniques like minianalysis, crosswalk, and pain-point taxonomy. This provides orchestration guidance showing when to apply each technique within waves of investigation for structured artifacts.

Can I use these research techniques without pairing with an orchestration system?▼

No, these research techniques require pairing with orchestration to produce deterministic outputs. While the library provides the named techniques and references, strict adherence to evidence discipline and orchestration is necessary to generate structured artifacts and traceable conclusions.

Do I need to load all references to begin applying structured research techniques?▼

No, you do not need to load all references. You identify the required named technique and load only its matching reference to begin applying structured research, ensuring strict adherence to evidence discipline and efficient workflow execution.
