SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve?

Sablier provides a clear explanation of on-chain token distribution capabilities, such as vesting, airdrops, and payroll, enabling teams to plan and implement token distributions with confidence.

Core Features & Use Cases

Token Vesting: Linear unlocks, cliffs, tranched releases, and custom curves with NFTs representing positions.
Airdrops: Merkle-tree distributions with optional vesting and clawback considerations.
Onchain Payroll: Real-time earned compensation with streaming tokens.

Quick Start

Explain Sablier's vesting and streaming model for a software engineer in simple terms.

FAQPage Schema

How does on-chain token streaming work for vesting and airdrops?▼

On-chain token streaming enables real-time, continuous release of tokens according to predefined schedules. Sablier uses this mechanism to automate vesting (with cliffs and tranches), airdrops (via Merkle trees), and payroll, with NFTs representing ownership positions on multiple blockchain networks.

Can I implement custom vesting curves and clawback logic for token distributions?▼

Yes. Sablier supports linear unlocks, cliff periods, tranched releases, and custom vesting curves. NFTs represent vesting positions, enabling flexible token distribution strategies with optional clawback mechanisms for airdrops and compensation plans across supported networks.

What's the difference between linear vesting and tranched token releases?▼

Linear vesting releases tokens continuously over time at a constant rate. Tranched releases unlock tokens in discrete batches at specific intervals. Sablier supports both models, plus custom curves, giving teams control over how recipients access distributed tokens.

How do I set up real-time payroll using blockchain token streaming?▼

Sablier enables on-chain payroll by streaming earned compensation to employees in real time. Recipients receive tokens continuously as they accrue, eliminating batch payment delays and providing transparent, verifiable compensation records across multiple networks.

Does on-chain vesting work across different blockchain networks?▼

Yes. Sablier provides cross-chain availability, allowing vesting, airdrops, and payroll to operate across multiple networks. Teams can implement consistent token distribution strategies regardless of which blockchain their recipients or treasury resides on.
