SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve? Seasonal peaks like Black Friday and holiday gifting can drive 30–50% of annual ecommerce revenue, yet many teams rebuild campaigns from scratch each year, forget to deactivate discounts, and damage sender reputation with sudden volume spikes. This Skill provides reusable workflows for planning, scheduling, and measuring seasonal campaigns. ## Core Features & Use Cases - Campaign Calendar Planning: Define a year-round event calendar (BFCM, Valentine's Day, Back-to-School) with lead times and reusable email templates. - Scheduled Promotional Pricing: Configure automatic discount activation and rollback on Shopify, WooCommerce, and BigCommerce so sale prices never linger after the event. - Email & SMS Sequences: Build countdown sequences with VIP early access, non-purchaser segmentation, frequency caps, and domain warm-up before high-volume sends. - Use Case: A merchant preparing for Black Friday uses this Skill to schedule a 7-step Klaviyo email sequence, set a 25% automatic discount with a fixed end date in Shopify, and cap SMS sends at two per event. ## Quick Start Plan my Black Friday campaign with a scheduled email sequence, automatic discount pricing, and a post-sale measurement report.

Frequently Asked Questions about seasonal-campaign-automation

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I automate a Black Friday email campaign in Klaviyo?▼

Create a campaign folder in Klaviyo and schedule a sequence of one-time sends: teaser at T-21, preview at T-14, VIP early access at T-7, countdown at T-3, launch day, and Cyber Monday for non-purchasers. Build templates 8 weeks ahead and reuse them each year.

How to schedule automatic discounts on Shopify for a sale?▼

Go to Shopify Admin → Discounts → Create Discount, set the percentage, and configure active start and end dates so Shopify activates and deactivates the discount automatically. Automatic discounts applied at checkout typically convert 10–15% better than code-based discounts.

Does this campaign workflow work with WooCommerce and BigCommerce?▼

Yes, the campaign structure is platform-agnostic. WooCommerce uses coupons via WooCommerce → Marketing → Coupons or AutomateWoo date-based triggers, while BigCommerce schedules promotions under Marketing → Promotions with automatic start and end dates.

Why do Black Friday emails go to spam and how to prevent it?▼

Sudden volume spikes damage sender reputation. Warm up your domain by increasing sends about 10% per week starting 4 weeks before the event, suppress contacts unengaged for 90+ days, and cap total BFCM emails at 4–5 per customer.

How many SMS messages should I send during a sale event?▼

Send 1–2 SMS per event maximum, such as launch day at 9am and Cyber Monday morning for non-purchasers. Sending more than 2 SMS in a 4-day period causes significant unsubscribe spikes.

What are common mistakes when running seasonal sale campaigns?▼

Common pitfalls include discounts left active after the sale, VIP emails sent to the entire list, and post-launch emails reaching customers who already purchased. Always set discount end dates before launch, verify segment sizes, and add 'has not ordered since launch' flow filters.
