What problem does it solve?
Drafts or updates the Background/introduction section using literature summaries from .research/literature/. This feature helps researchers synthesize context, current approaches, and gaps without manual writing, ensuring alignment with project aims and cited sources.
Core Features & Use Cases
- Literature-informed background: Generates background paragraphs by integrating context, existing approaches, gaps, and your contribution based on literature summaries in .research/literature/ and citations in .bib files.
- Funnel structure guidance: Produces a well-structured Background following the funnel model (broad context → current approaches → gaps → your contribution).
- Project alignment: References project aims in .research/project_telos.md to ensure the background supports study goals.
- Update existing drafts: If manuscript/background.md exists, updates content while preserving user edits.
- Citation consistency check: Verifies citations against .bib sources and compiles a references list.
Quick Start
Use the /write_background command after completing literature review to generate or update manuscript/background.md from the literature pool. Ensure .research/literature/ contains summaries and .bib contains citations, and that .research/project_telos.md defines the project aims.
