What problem does it solve?

Writing arcs that feel sudden or unearned by making the character’s internal change directly caused by specific plot events, so the ending feels consequential rather than coincidental.

Core Features & Use Cases

  • Arc causation mapping: Aligns a character’s opening belief and wound with plot “pressure points” that force defenses to crack in order.
  • External-internal alignment check: Diagnoses whether external events actually generate internal states, including whether the same ending would occur for a different character.
  • Thematic argument resolution: Ensures the ending resolves (tests at full strength) the story’s real argument about how the world works.
  • Use cases: When a draft’s character growth feels like a sudden personality swap, when the ending doesn’t “land,” or when the thematic point reads disconnected from the arc.

Quick Start

Ask for an Arc Map by providing your protagonist’s opening belief and wound, then the major plot beats through the climax, and the outcome you currently have.
