SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve? Founders often evaluate candidates on gut feel, pedigree, or personal similarity, which leads to wrong hires and affinity bias. This Skill converts interviewers' behavioral evidence into a consolidated, defensible hiring recommendation while actively filtering out similarity-based "fit" judgments. ## Core Features & Use Cases - Evidence-Based Scoring: Consolidates A-D competency scores across multiple interviewers, downgrading any score that lacks concrete behavioral evidence. - Must-Pass Gating: Automatically fails candidates who fall below threshold on must-pass competencies, regardless of other strengths. - Affinity-Bias Filter: Detects and discards "fit" signals based on shared background, interests, or comfort, re-deriving fit only from mission enthusiasm, working approach, decision/risk alignment, and complementary perspective. - Use Case: After two interviewers score an Operations Coordinator candidate, the Skill flags one interviewer's "same school, love hiking" rationale as affinity bias, marks a must-pass reliability competency as insufficient evidence, and recommends "Acceptable with Reservations" with specific probe questions for the next round. ## Quick Start Score candidate C-208 for the Operations Coordinator role using the attached interviewer scorecards and produce a hiring recommendation.

Frequently Asked Questions about hiring-scorecard-and-fit

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema
How do I score a job candidate after interviews?▼

Collect each interviewer's scorecard with behavioral evidence per competency, then consolidate A-D scores across interviewers. Apply must-pass gates for critical competencies and synthesize an overall recommendation of Highly Recommend, Acceptable, Acceptable with Reservations, or Unacceptable.

How to reduce affinity bias in hiring decisions?▼

Test every stated fit signal against its basis: if it rests on shared background, interests, or comfort, discard it and log the bias flag. Re-derive fit only from mission enthusiasm, working approach, decision and risk alignment, and complementary perspective.

What is a must-pass competency in candidate evaluation?▼

A must-pass competency is a role-critical criterion flagged on the scorecard template. If a candidate scores below the threshold, typically below B, on any must-pass competency, the overall recommendation becomes Unacceptable regardless of other strengths.

Can this skill send job offers or rejections to candidates?▼

No. The skill only produces a recommendation for the founder and never issues offers, rejections, or any candidate-facing communication. Hire decisions, offers, and sensitive rejections always require founder approval, with HR or legal review where discrimination concerns arise.

What happens when interviewers disagree on a candidate?▼

Disagreements are reconciled against the underlying behavioral evidence rather than averaged away. If the disagreement traces to bias rather than evidence, both evidence sets are surfaced to the founder for decision.

When should I not use a hiring scorecard evaluation?▼

Do not use it to build blank scorecards or interview questions, which belongs to interview-guide-and-scorecard, or to assess overall company culture health, which belongs to culture-diagnostic. It also cannot make employment decisions, only recommendations.
