SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

💡 This Skill includes references (resource) components.

What problem does it solve?

This skill solves the problem of inconsistent or non-existent game planning by providing a structured, 13-section framework that ensures all technical and creative requirements are defined before coding begins.

Core Features & Use Cases

Comprehensive GDD Generation: Produces a full 13-section design document including mechanics, UI wireframes, and technical specs.
Acceptance Criteria Mapping: Automatically derives testable criteria from design decisions to facilitate automated playtesting.
Use Case: Use this when starting a new project to define your core loop, art direction, and technical constraints, ensuring your team has a shared source of truth.

Quick Start

Use the phaser-gdd skill to generate a complete game design document for a new platformer game.

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I generate a game design document for a Phaser 4 project?▼

To generate a game design document for a Phaser 4 project, use this skill to structure mechanics, progression, and technical requirements into a standardized 13-section format. It translates conceptual designs into a comprehensive technical blueprint.

How do I create testable acceptance criteria for Phaser 4 gameplay mechanics?▼

You create testable acceptance criteria by deriving them directly from your structured game design decisions. This skill maps mechanics and progression into automated playtesting requirements to ensure technical alignment with Phaser 4 architecture.

Can I define device-specific performance budgets for Phaser 4 games using a GDD?▼

Yes, a game design document ensures technical alignment with Phaser 4 architecture and physics engines by explicitly defining device-specific performance budgets. This structures your technical constraints alongside core mechanics and progression.

What is the best way to structure core game loops and art direction for Phaser 4?▼

The best way to structure core loops and art direction is using a standardized 13-section game design document. This framework defines your mechanics, UI wireframes, and technical constraints to establish a shared source of truth for your team.

Do I need a game design document before starting Phaser 4 implementation?▼

You need a game design document before starting Phaser 4 implementation to define technical and creative requirements. It facilitates the transition from conceptual design to implementation by deriving testable acceptance criteria for automated playtesting.

What are the limitations of starting Phaser 4 development without a structured GDD?▼

Starting without a structured game design document leads to inconsistent or non-existent game planning. It prevents your team from establishing a shared source of truth for technical constraints, physics engines, and testable acceptance criteria.
