SYSTEM DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS

What problem does it solve? Founders often cannot tell whether they will hit their revenue target because their pipeline is a raw list of deals with optimistic close dates and stalled opportunities. This Skill turns open deals into a defensible forecast with a confidence band, identifies where the pipeline leaks, and names the specific actions that close the gap. ## Core Features & Use Cases - Coverage & Conversion Diagnosis: Computes pipeline coverage ratio against the win-rate-required multiple and compares observed stage-by-stage conversion to targets, ranking leaks by lost value. - Weighted Forecast with Hygiene Flags: Builds a probability-weighted bookings forecast, reconciles it against a commit/best-case category view, applies a historical bias haircut, and flags stalled, quiet, slip-risk, and unqualified-but-advanced deals. - Risk & Gap Analysis: Quantifies gap to target, additional pipeline and deals needed, concentration risk from a single dominant deal, and whether the gap is closable this period or a next-period problem. - Use Case: At month-end, a founder asks "Target is $150k this quarter, one month left — will I make it?" The Skill reviews 14 open deals, finds coverage at 3.5x versus the 4x needed, flags two stalled proposal-stage deals, downgrades an unqualified negotiation deal, and commits an honest forecast of $85k with ranked recovery actions. ## Quick Start Ask the assistant to review your sales pipeline against this quarter's bookings target and produce a weighted forecast with flagged deals and recommended actions.

Frequently Asked Questions about pipeline-and-forecast-review

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema
How do I build a weighted sales forecast from my pipeline?▼

Multiply each open deal's value by its stage probability, counting only deals with expected close dates inside the period. Stage probabilities should come from your observed historical conversion; fallback bands range from 10-20% at discovery to 90% at verbal commit.

How much pipeline coverage do I need to hit my sales target?▼

Needed coverage is roughly 1 divided by your win rate. At a 25% win rate you need 4x coverage; at 33% you need 3x. Coverage within 20% below the needed ratio is Needs-Attention, and below 2x is Critical.

When should I not run a pipeline and forecast review?▼

Skip it when no defined pipeline stages exist yet — design the sales process first. It is also the wrong tool for single-deal proposals or negotiations, or for a whole-company diagnostic spanning cash, operations, and people.

Why is my sales forecast consistently too optimistic?▼

Common causes are stalled deals kept in the forecast past their stage SLA, close dates sooner than remaining cycle time allows, and advanced-stage deals with no decision-maker engaged. Compute mean forecast minus actual over past periods and apply that bias as a haircut.

Can this skill send re-engagement emails to stalled deals?▼

No. It drafts re-engagement outreach for stalled deals, but any customer-facing message is an external communication that always requires founder approval before sending. The skill only writes forecasts, metrics, and internal follow-up tasks.
