What problem does it solve?

Automates crafting and running Opentrons Protocol API v2 protocols, enabling rapid development and testing without manual robot interaction.

Core Features & Use Cases

Template-driven protocol creation for OT-2 and Flex.
Load labware, modules, and pipettes, and run or simulate workflows.
Prebuilt templates for common tasks (PCR setup, serial dilution) to speed validation.
Use case: quickly validate a transfer from reservoir to plate in simulation before real execution.

Quick Start

Run a sample protocol from the templates to load labware and execute a test transfer.

Frequently Asked Questions about opentrons-integration

High-intent search queries and answers about installing and using this skill.

FAQPage Schema

How do I create Opentrons Protocol API v2 protocols for lab automation?▼

You can automate Opentrons Protocol API v2 protocols using template-driven patterns to load labware, modules, and pipettes for OT-2 and Flex workflows. Prebuilt templates for PCR setup and serial dilution speed up validation.

Can I simulate Opentrons OT-2 and Flex workflows before running them on a robot?▼

Yes, you can simulate Opentrons OT-2 and Flex workflows. The templates support simulated runs, allowing you to validate transfers from a reservoir to a plate quickly before real execution without manual robot interaction.

Do I need the Opentrons API v2 environment to automate pipetting protocols?▼

Yes, the Opentrons API v2 environment is required. The templates depend on the Opentrons package to automate crafting, testing, and validating pipetting workflows for OT-2 and Flex lab automation robots.

What is the best way to validate a serial dilution protocol for Opentrons robots?▼

The best way to validate a serial dilution protocol is using prebuilt templates. These templates allow you to load labware and execute test transfers in simulation before real execution on the robot.

Does this approach support loading custom labware and modules for PCR setup?▼

Yes, template-based protocol patterns support loading labware and modules specifically for PCR setup. You can load pipettes and run or simulate these workflows to speed up validation for OT-2 and Flex robots.
